    John Hawkins

    John Hawkins, Senior Advisor for Product and Technical Marketing
    As a network specialist, John supports the company’s Packet Networking portfolio. Joining Ciena in 2009, John has held positions in business development and product management functions. He led the business development and promotion of Ciena’s E-Suite family of packet products.

    Prior to joining Ciena, John was with Nortel Networks where he was responsible for Carrier Ethernet product management. His projects included a number of innovative technology building blocks within Nortel’s Optical Ethernet portfolio. John began his career at GE as an IC designer, and later product manager in the Aerospace Division.

    With over 25 years of technical experience, John is a frequent contributor to the Metro Ethernet Forum and sought after industry speaker. John holds a BSEE degree from North Carolina State, an MS in Telecommunications from Southern Methodist University, as well as an MBA from Duke University.

    Brian Lavallée, Senior Director, Portfolio Marketing
    Brian Lavallée is the Director of Solutions Marketing with global responsibility for Ciena’s packet and submarine networking solutions.

    Brian has over 20 years of telecommunications experience with previous roles in Product Line Management, Systems Engineering, Research & Development, and Manufacturing. During his career, he has worked in various areas of optical networking including access, metro, regional, long-haul, and submarine networks.

    He holds a Bachelor of Electrical Engineering degree from Concordia University and an MBA in Marketing from McGill University, both located in Montréal, Québec, Canada.

    Pamela Morgan, Director, Services Marketing
    Pamela Morgan has responsibility for the positioning, sales and partner enablement, and promotion of the entire services portfolio.  She has over a decade of experience in Services Marketing with both hardware and software organizations, and most recently was the Director of Services Marketing at Juniper Networks. Previously, Pamela was a Vice President at Gartner in the Market and Business Strategies Consulting group and has spent much of her career advising high technology companies on marketing and communications strategy.
