    Don Frey

    Don is a principal analyst with Ovum, focusing on core networking and the impact that SDN and virtualization will have on the core network. His areas of coverage include packet networking, optical platforms, open platforms, transport SDN and virtualization, and carrier transformation toward data-center technology.

    Don joined Ovum in September 2016. Prior to joining Ovum, he spent 17 years at Fujitsu Network Communications, where he analyzed trends in telecoms and data-center networking to support new business initiatives, including SDN/NFV, wireless, services, packet, and optical technologies. In addition, he was a network architecture planner at Cincinnati Bell Telephone.

    Wayne Hickey is part of Ciena’s Packet Portfolio team, and has worked for several hi-tech telecommunications companies including ECI Telecom, APCON, Overture, and Cisco Systems, building and selling solutions to all market segments. Wayne has held senior level positions in product management and marketing of software and hardware of Ethernet switches, Ethernet Access Devices, Metro, and Optical Ethernet equipment. He has a Diploma in Electronic Engineering Technology and has lived in the Dallas area for the past 16 years. Prior to that Wayne worked for Aliant Inc.
