    Mitch Simcoe has over 30 years of experience in the telecommunications industry starting with Bell Canada and later with Nortel in numerous roles in Marketing and Product Management in product groups including voice switching, broadband access and optical networking. He later joined GENBAND as Director of Application Marketing and built an application showcase for communication-enabled IT applications. He is currently at Ciena in the role of Senior Advisor of Market Development & Consulting and is responsible for supporting Utilities to modernize and automate their networks. He received a Bachelor of Engineering (Electrical) and a MBA (Marketing) from McGill University in Montreal, Canada.

    Patrick Scully, P. Eng., MBA, has been involved in the research and development of optical network solutions for 20 years. In his current role as Director, Product Line Management, in the Networking Platforms Division at Ciena (www.Ciena.com), his area of expertise is focused around the architecture of packet optical networks and the development and introduction of network security and media solutions addressing the needs of enterprises and service providers. He holds a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from McGill University (Montreal, Canada) and a master’s degree in business administration (international affairs) from University of Ottawa (Ottawa, Canada).
